New Music Obsession #2

There comes a time during the week when you feel there is no end (*ahem* Monday at 2pm), and other times it feels like it's not even passing. Yeah, it sucks, but you know what? It's 5 o'clock somewhere and you don't need an excuse to have a party (headphones are a wonderful thing). Listen to some music and let that negativity slide off your back like what Kim K does when people say she has no real talent (and looking amazing all the time is a talent).

Luckily for you (and unlucky for my friends), I found new songs to play on repeat for 15 days straight (YAS). I may have heard them a couple of times (like twice) and I have ou t them on my current rotation so maybe you might get something new stuck in your head (like that Lorde song from the last post).

You deserve to have a good time this weekend and get wasted with your friends, alone is cool too (not really, so get drunk with your mom). Happy listening (or deep vibes if you feel that way) and just go with the flow and slide into spring like Kim K putting on a tube dress.

Don't over do it now (it's only ok if I do it, hello…)

Newness #6: Pitbull & J Balvin ft. Camila Cabello - Hey Ma

Newness #7: Stargate ft. P!nk and Sia - Waterfall

Newness #8: Lorde - Liability

Newness #9: Bebe Rexha ft. G-Eazy - F.F.F.

Newness #10: Nicki Minaj, Drake & Lil Wayne - No Frauds

You made it to the end? Good for you (no gold star tho, sorry).

Confessed and obsessed.

New Music Obsession #1

Every so often a batch of new songs get released and I get shook to my very core (do you get what I'm saying?). This month (unlike boring and basic January), has been one of those times of bliss and excitement. I also know that this happiness and rush of newness will also benefit my music rotation (my friends have been dying to listen to something other than Halsey).

So, let me share with you the fruits of my labour (like Google-ing is a full time job for some people) and put down a couple of songs that caught my attention or I played once and that was enough for me to like it right away (I'm so serious right now, I can get super into it).

Reminder: My taste is not the same as yours (shame), but if you like a bit of EDM, Pop maybe some R&B and Rap then we good homie (and if you don't then click here).

Newness #1: Zedd ft. Alessia Clara - Stay

Newness #2: Kygo ft. Selena Gomez - It Ain't Me

Newness #3: The Chainsmokers & Coldplay - Something Just Like This

Newness #4: DJ Khaled ft. Beyonce and Jay Z - Shining

Newness #5: Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj  & Ty Dolla $ign - Swalla

Enjoy and I hope one of these suckers gets stuck in your head for a week.

Currently Reading: Audiobooks

I was never really someone who had a thing for reading books. I mean sure, I read them in school and some out of pure enjoyment, but most of the time I couldn't be bothered.

Then came my discovery of audiobooks. Think of it as a best-selling novel being read to you by the author themselves. Captivating, descriptive and they even change the voice a bit for different characters (yeah, you get really into it). Of course, because it's me, there I was signing up to Audible.com at 15$ a month downloading book after book. I went crazy.

This is the Audible app, it's great but you can't purchase the titles directly on the app (I can get carried away so maybe a good thing?)

This is the Audible app, it's great but you can't purchase the titles directly on the app (I can get carried away so maybe a good thing?)

Sidenote: the bookstore on iTunes is actually really great and audible.com is similar but offers the monthly plan where you can get a credit every month for any book, even if it's more than $15.  (The real trick here is to check both to see which is cheaper and go with that.)

Now you can imagine me sitting at work with my headphones on (secret: sometimes in the car to), listening to my audiobook, focused as hell. When I'm listening to a book, for some reason people notice, and I don't think I've ever had so many people ask me if I was okay in a single day. I mean reading actual books is great (if you find the time to be bougie and sit down to read), but when they are read to you by someone else, for some reason (well the book was amazing) it really allows you to process and get a bit emotional (yeah yeah I'm cheesy).

So if you love to read books; then this is not for you (obviously loser). If you don't like to read but love to hear a good story and have a good laugh or cry (or neither, if you're heartless that's ok to) then download an app and start listening to something good (or don't, I mean I don't know what you like).

The #OBSESSED list:

  1. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by: Benjamin Alire Saenz - This one right here will change your life. #foreverobsessed #nuffsaid
  2. We Were Liars by: E. Lockhart - A great story with many twists and turns. If you like endings that are different and not cookie-cut, this ones for you.
  3. Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List by: Rachel Cohn and David Levithan - This one is my next obsession and I've been told (by you know who you are) that it's very hard to put down. Their is also a movie about it on Netflix by the same name, so go and cheat your way through reading it and watch the movie instead (savage af).

Something to listen to: Halsey

Music is something I listen to all the time and yes it can get personal. However if you like Lana Del Rey and electro pop then please get ready to be invested.

There's something about the melodies and her incredible voice that has me humming all day long. Now as obsessive as I get, I can listen to one song on repeat 1000 times (my friends hate me) and recently its all Halsey.

Something to know: I get organized with my playlists. Every month I create a playlist with the month and year as the title (OCD much?) and this month the playlist should actually just be called Halsey (never gonna happen).

Obsessions: Castle, Gasoline, Drive, Control and Hurricane (Arty Remix).

If this music isn't your thing then thats cool write your own blog. If you think you might like it, then listen below.

Sidenote: Closer with the Chainsmokers did not start this obsession with her. It was Colours and New Americana (it's actually been a while).

Yeah so maybe I should write this down

Many times in my life I come across things that spark my interest and I get into a mood where I just need to dig deep and discover everything I can know about that specific thing.

Then I move onto something else.

So I thought maybe I should write this stuff down and maybe some people might actually want to know about it just like I did. I may not always be interested or fascinated by it but it'll be here for you.

Current obsession: Website building

How's it working out?: Not bad I guess

Getting it to work was actually easy and finding what to write about, also easy. Trick is, who is gonna read it?

Hey there good looking :)
